According to the input signal type, it can be divided into analog amplifier and digital amplifier. Analog amplifiers are used to amplify analog audio signals, such as music, speech, etc; Digital amplifiers convert analog audio signals into digital signals, which are then amplified after digital processing.

According to the conduction method, it can be divided into Class A amplifier, Class B amplifier, Class AB amplifier, and Class D amplifier. A-class power amplifiers have good linearity and low distortion, but low efficiency; B-class amplifiers have high efficiency, but may produce distortion; AB class amplifiers combine the advantages of Class A and Class B; Class D amplifiers have very high efficiency, but may introduce some digital noise.
